Help Me Grow Utah is currently recruiting for the following internship opportunities:
Program Description: Help Me Grow Utah (HMGU) is a free statewide family information line designed to promote the optimal development of young children by: Â
- linking families to information and community resources related to child development and parentingÂ
- providing personalized care coordination
- and creating and facilitating partnerships within the community to improve the availability and quality of services for families.Â

Position Description and Responsibilities: The Parent Support Intern works with our team of Parent Support Specialists and have the opportunity to contact families to help them enroll, review developmental screenings with parents, and more. If you are interested in learning what types of resources are available throughout the state, this internship may be a great fit for you. Â
Responsibilities Include:Â Â
- Working with families via phone, email or textÂ
- Interpreting and giving results of child development questionnaires to parentsÂ
- Researching community and informational resources to provide the family as applicableÂ
- Attending meetings and outreach events as they are availableÂ
- Writing blog posts about child development topics of interest to you Â
- Other office tasks as necessary. Â
Minimum Requirements: Â
- Applicants should be currently enrolled in or have graduated from a Child Development, Public Health, Psychology or Behavioral Science, Family Studies, or similar programÂ
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail Â
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written Â
- Ability to participate in collaborative teamwork among staff, interns and volunteers Â
- Willing to take initiatives on projects Â
- Self-starter with ability to work independently Â
- Proper telephone etiquette, including active listening and assessment skills Â
Benefits and Compensation: This is a volunteer internship position. Â
Work Schedule:Â Must commit to a minimum of 15 hours a week. Flexible scheduling available. Position based in Provo, UT. Start date is flexibleÂ

- creating and facilitating partnerships within the community to improve the availability and quality of services for familiesÂ
Position Description: The Social Media Intern’s efforts are focused on increasing the reach of the program throughout the state through management and improvement of social media and various marketing materials. These include, but are not limited to:  Â
- Team with the Help Me Grow Director to increase social media outreach through the current platformsÂ
- Help design social media images or graphics using program marketing guidelinesÂ
- Create, caption, and publish content on social media platformsÂ
- Along with existing protocol, use knowledge-base to provide input and direction to the program’s social mediaÂ
- Engage our social media audiences with Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Pinterest, and our blogÂ
Minimum Requirements:Â
- Currently enrolled in or have graduated from a Marketing, Communications, English, Human Development, Early Childhood, Family Studies, Public Health or a similar programÂ
- Experience with social media (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and Pinterest)Â
- Proficient in English communication skills, both verbal and writtenÂ
- Proficient technical skills in basic computer literacy, Microsoft Office Suite, and Canva with the ability to learn new software applications and databasesÂ
- Great writing skills with the ability and willingness to edit and reviseÂ
- Great organization skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage time well and stay on top of tasksÂ
- Willingness to take initiative on projects Â
Benefits and Compensation: This is an unpaid volunteer position and qualifies for school credit and internship requirements; however, you will need to check the exact requirements of your program or degree. We anticipate that by the end of your internship you will have a strong portfolio of meaningful projects. Â
Work Schedule and Location: This position requires a minimum of 15 hours a week and the schedule is flexible based on school schedule. This position can be remote, on-site in Provo, Utah or hybrid. This position reports directly to the Help Me Grow Utah Director.Â
