Become a Parent Champion
We love parents and feel that they can be one of the greatest strengths for
families and communities! Parents know what it’s like to experience the
daily challenges of parenting and can offer empathy and support to other
parents in the community. We value their experiences and want their
perspectives. Their experiences and partnership with Help Me Grow make
them what we like to call, Parent Champions!
A Parent Champion is anyone who champions the cause of parents,
whether they are currently parents themselves, have been parents, or simply
want to support parents.
Our goal for Parent Champions is to get them involved with and
strengthen their community in a way that is comfortable and
achievable for them. They can participate at various levels of
involvement depending on what they are comfortable with.
We want parents to feel involved by providing them with the
opportunity to take on leadership roles in the community. They should
feel that the skills/talents/time/ideas they have to offer are important
and make a difference.
It is our hope that as Parent Champions join our Help Me Grow team,
they will feel comfortable and empowered to tell us their needs and
the needs of other parents in the community so we can better support
them.
How to Join
You must be enrolled in Help Me Grow Utah or have participated previously to become a Parent Champion. If this is you, please fill out the following survey:

Expectations
As a Parent Champion, you would contribute to Help Me Grow’s vision to create a vibrant community environment where families are empowered to make the best decisions for their child’s development and future. Parent Champions can choose how they would like to become involved and have the opportunity to do one or more of the following:
Share
- Share your personal story with others
- Tell your friends about useful resources
- Be a parent mentor! HMG will refer parents to talk to you about your parenting experience if they are going through a similar challenge
Social Media
- “Like” us on Facebook and invite your friends!
- Follow us on Instagram and interact with stories and posts
- Share your baby’s cute photos with us!
Advocate
- Come to a fair/event with us and talk to other parents about your experience with HMG
- Encourage organizations you have a relationship with to become more involved in the community
Volunteer
- Help facilitate discussion at one of our Aspire Parent Groups
- Update information for community resource referrals
- Take minutes and collect parent ideas at Family Advisory Board Meetings
- Check our current volunteer opportunities or learn about other service opportunities in the community.
